hook line sing along 2015Each year MENZA (Music Education New Zealand/Aotearoa) and the Music Commission run a competition called Hook, Line, & Sing-a-long for school students to write a song.IMG_0028

We sometimes sing a song, ‘Paradise’, at assembly. This was the winning song in 2013 by Waimarie Smith.

In 2017, Sylvia entered her song ‘Turn back time’ and received an award for being an Outstanding Younger Composer.

In 2016, the winners were Hannah Milo and Ella Dale from Ellerslie School, for their song “We Are Aotearoa”.

There were also 8 SONGS CHOSEN TO RECEIVE A DISTINCTION AND AMONG THEM…..OUR VERY OWN SYLVIA DOUGLAS WITH “BIRDS”!
