Aotea Square will be transformed into a lush lawn filled with free entertainment and fun for everyone! Saturday 12th March 5pm – Ruaumoko: :The fully staged performance, directed and choreographed by Moss Patterson to the music of Gareth Farr’s Ruaumoko played by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, takes place as part of Auckland Arts Festival in The Civic. (60 minutes – suitable for all, best Year 3+)
Sunday 13th March 10:30-12pm – Remix the Orchestra: APO Remix the Orchestra is an international award-winning music programme fusing urban & classical music through professional industry mentoring and the use of the latest audio production technology.
Saturday 2nd April 10am & 11:30am – APO 4 Kids Introduce your under-sixes to the sound of a symphony orchestra through this vibrant and interactive concert experience. A concert full of rhythm and acrobatic adventures! Come along and be surprised!
Saturday 28th May 2-4pm – APO Meets Harold the Giraffe (from Life Education) APO Open Orchestra afternoons offer the ultimate in behind-the-scenes and in-front-of-the-stage for the whole family. Enjoy a performance by the full Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, or explore individual instruments up close in the Music Zoo. Come along and watch, talk to APO musicians, and listen to some orchestral favourites.
