On Wednesday 14th October, nearly 200 Gladstone students hopped on a bus and went to watch the APO perform a concert. They play music based on a WATER theme.

The title of the concert was MANGOPARE. This is Te Reo Maori for the hammerhead shark. The final piece of music was by New Zealand composer Gareth Farr, and the orchestra was joined by 16 dancers from Green Bay High School who performed a dance choreographed by Moss Patterson (Artistic Director, Atamira Dance Company) to Gareth Farr’s From the Depths Sound the Great Sea Gongs.

Here is the music we listened to, with links:

Smetana Vltava (Die Moldau) (one of my favourites!)
