There will be a free family concert coming up at the Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau on Saturday 22 July. Programme starts at 1.30 with foyer activities for kids and the Sistema Orchestra playing. The afternoon culminates in a one hour concert from the APO (3-4pm).
The concert is a programme of popular orchestral pieces such as Grieg’s Peer Gynt Morning and In the Hall of the Mountain King and arrangements of well-known music including Pirates of the Caribbean The Curse of the Black Pearl. The concert also includes the second outing of our specially commissioned arrangement of Poi E.
In association with Auckland Live, the New Zealand Opera schools tour team will be taking the stage once more with their delightful rendition of Donizetti’s Don Pasquale.
Each day, over the weekend, there will be a FREE performance of the opera followed by a workshop where children and parents/family alike can have a go at being an opera singer themselves.
Saturday 25th June – Concert Chamber, Auckland Town Hall – 10.30am
Sunday 26th June – Bruce Mason Centre, Takapuna – 10.30am
