There will be a free family concert coming up at the Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau on Saturday 22 July.  Programme starts at 1.30 with foyer activities for kids and the Sistema Orchestra playing.  The afternoon culminates in a one hour concert from the APO (3-4pm).

Senior School trip to Orchestra

This morning the Senior School walked to Mt Albert War Memorial Hall to watch a concert by local youth orchestra, Aotea Youth Symphony, directed by Paul Harrop. We were introduced to each family of instruments and given demonstrations by each instrument.

We heard the following programme. You can click on the links to hear the music again:

If you want to know more about the orchestra and it’s training orchestra, the Aotea Sinfonietta click HERE. Several Gladstone musicians play in the Sinfonietta and will one day perform for us in the Aotea Youth Symphony!
