Reminder: Kapa Haka Performance at Assembly this Monday at 9am

Tena Koutou e te whanau,
This is just a reminder that we have our Kapa Haka performance on Monday at 9am in our school hall. All of you are welcome to come and watch.
Please check with your child if they are performing or not as they may not have been attending practices and do not know the items. Only students who have been coming to practice will be performing. We will be giving this notice in paper form tomorrow too so if you child does not bring one home it means they didnt attend practice.

Here is the important information for the performance:

– We will meet in my classroom, Room 47, at 8am to get dressed and ready. Mr. Lee, Whaea Rach or myself will be in the class waiting.

– Our Year 1s, 2s and 3s will need to bring some black tights as they will be wearing the school shirt and black tights as the uniforms are too big.

– Girls must have their hair in a bun please.

– The boys will wear black shorts, boys piupiu and a taniko band.

– On arrival girls will be given moko kauae, black lipstick, one blue feather and one black feather. Boys will get a moko as well. We will need as much help as possible with this process.

– At 8:30am we will run through our set at least twice. When we go to the hall our students will also be wearing a Kapa Haka shirt as they will not be performing first and will watch Kowhai.

– When Kowhai will be performing we will be sitting at the back of hall in seats.

– Once we have performed students will come back to my class to get undressed and ready for school.
